Bethany

June 18th, 2010

Today, I met Bethany and her hubby, Jeff, who are having a little boy in about a month.  Some people are just meant to be parents — this couple is one of them.  Baby Jackson doesn’t know it yet, but he is one lucky little guy!  Bethany has a quiet self-assurance and a wonderful way of making people feel comfortable that are sure to be excellent traits as a mother.

Thank you, Bethany and Jeff, for coming for Bethany’s maternity portraits today!  I had a great afternoon photographing you and laughing with you, and it will be so much fun to see you in a month as a family of three! ♥  I hope that you enjoy your “sneak peek”! 🙂

I met four month old Ava today, and she made my day!  She wore a little knitted piggy hat so adorably that it is sure to become one of my favorites!  Ava is so so sweet, with the most kissable cheeks, perfect bow-shaped lips, itty-bitty piggy toes, and strikingly bright blue eyes.  She was just a little cuddle-bug!  If I hadn’t been taking her photos, I could have cuddled with her all day ♥  It is easy to see why her mommy and daddy love her to pieces!

Thank you, Meghan and Brian, for traveling all the way to San Diego for Ava’s portraits!  I truly appreciate your coming here to my home-studio, and I hope that you enjoy your “peek” at your precious little girl’s first photo shoot!  I can’t wait to see her again in just a few short months! 🙂

Both Lisa and her husband, Bobby, were so full of life for their maternity session, it felt like I was hanging out with old friends!  In fact, I practically was!  My boyfriend was part of Lisa’s fun circle of friends a few years ago (or a tad more! ;))  and I can see why!  Lisa is a positive, genuine, and loving woman whose beauty on the inside radiates outward.  For her session, I channeled the “vintage-gods”; then, we spent the morning playing “dress-up”!  🙂 Lisa looked gorgeous, and fits the part of a glamorous mama-to-be so well!

Thank you so much for coming for your session today, Lisa and Bobby!  I had a blast with you both!  I am so thrilled to meet your little man, Levi, once he arrives, too!  Enjoy your “sneak peek”! ♥

I met a delightful family today, with the sweetest little girl!  Serena, seven, is going to be a big sister in just a couple of short weeks, and I’m going to get to meet her little brother then, too!  Both mommy, Tashsa, and Serena have beautiful blue eyes and gorgeous curls, so it will be fun to see what the little guy will look like when he is born ♥  What a clever little girl Serena is;  she decided that her baby brother should be called Robbie, short for Robert.  Isn’t that adorable?! 🙂

Thank you for coming for your session today, Tashsa, Rob, and Serena!  I’m looking forward to meeting the new little man in your lives very soon!  I hope that you enjoy your sneak peek of your portraits!

At just seven days old, tiny Alina came to my home-studio and made squeaking noises that had me giggling as I took her portraits.  She was everything that makes a newborn so much fun to photograph — squishy, bendy, and so so lovable!  ♥  Her parents call her “Blueberry”, which I think is very apt because she is sweet as can be!  She slept for her whole session, and took a short “milk break” before posing for some adorable portraits amidst some apples and oranges! 🙂

Alina’s mommy and daddy came for maternity portraits just a month ago, and it was heartwarming to see them as parents now, and to officially meet the “bump”! 😉  Congratulations, Myrna and Carter, on your gorgeous baby girl!  You had good reason to excitedly await her arrival; Alina is a beautiful little soul!

Enjoy your sneak peek of Baby Alina’s portraits!

Tickled Blue!

June 4th, 2010

A terrific couple came today for their maternity session!  Katie, and her husband, Steve, are tickled pink about the upcoming birth of their son… or perhaps I should say “tickled blue”!  I have to admit that I am also only too happy that they are having a son in July… because I will get to meet him, too!  How fun it will be to have a brand-new little boy to hold and love in just a month or so! ♥

Thank you so very much for coming for your session today, Katie and Steve!  I hope that you both enjoy your “sneak peek” of your portraits! 🙂

Three generations of wonderful women came to my home-studio today:  Raquel, Veronica, and tiny Josefina.  I really enjoyed seeing grandma, mommy, and baby together and their loving interactions with one another.  Since Josefina comes from a line of fabulous women, I can only imagine the memories these three ladies will create with one another!  Josefina is one lucky little girl ♥

At three weeks old, Josefina has a very sweet disposition and a head full of delicious, dark hair that already has a mind of its own, and is just so impossibly cute!  🙂  She stayed awake for a bit, probably because she didn’t want to miss out on all of the fun, but then settled into a nice sleep once we wrapped her up for her portraits.  Since her daddy grows prize orchids, she even “posed” very stylishly with an orchid in her hair 😉

Thank you so very much for visiting me today, Raquel, Veronica, and itty-bitty Josefina!  I hope that you enjoy your “sneak peek”!

May 23rd, 2010

Today is my sister’s birthday, and I remembered  how happy I was when my family was bringing her home from the hospital; I was only two and half, but I was jumping up and down and squealing about how tiny and perfect she was.  Yes, I loved babies even then 🙂  How wonderful it is to have new babies in this world who are just so pure and innocent and happy, and who truly bring an abundance of joy to our lives!  ♥

Baby Cole, ten months, was a gorgeous reminder today of how beautiful life is when a baby is in it!  What a joy he was to photograph, and what a little ham!  He “posed” and smiled and was an especially delightful baby “subject” — I could have taken his portraits all day!  I was so happy to capture him doing the quintessential baby things, like scooting, crawling (he just learned!), sitting, and even proudly standing up in a basket.

Thank you so very much for bringing your perfect little boy for his portraits today, Lynn and Clay!  I had a great time meeting you all.  I hope that you enjoy your “sneak peek” of sweet Cole’s portraits! 🙂

P.S.  Happy Birthday, Mary! ♥ My life is so blessed to have you in it ♥

Mason

May 21st, 2010

Baby Mason, nine months old, had a very momentous day today!  Not only did he come over today for his very own portrait session, but the little guy learned how to crawl all by himself!  Good job, little buddy!  Mason has this wonderful, easygoing disposition, and in looking at his portraits, just the most exquisite, kind-hearted eyes.  When he gets older, he is sure to break some hearts! 😉  He and his brother, Ben, were a pleasure to meet and play with today!

Thank you, Liz, for bringing Mason for his baby portrait session!  You have two really sweet and smart little guys on your hands ♥  I hope that you enjoy your portraits! 🙂

Little Dolly

May 18th, 2010

When I was a little girl, my favorite toys were my baby-dolls which I fed, dressed, and doted on in every way.  If you ask my mom, she’ll tell you that at one year old I began my obsession with them.  Apparently, I carried my first bean-bag doll around in my mouth! 🙂  So you can only imagine that I was in Heaven talking to and playing with beautiful Baby Addison today, a much cuter version of those baby dolls from so long ago ♥  note, for those who might be wondering:  I held Addison the usual way… in my arms! 😉

Sweet and calm little Addison came to visit me today for her portrait session, and she even made the same adorable expression as the original Cabbage Patch Kids!  For such a young baby, Addison has the most soulful eyes, and looks much wiser than her three months.

Thank you, Addison’s mommy and daddy, for bringing your baby daughter for her portraits!  I hope that you enjoy them!
