One Happy Little Peanut

July 12th, 2010

Baby Preston, just eight days new, came to visit me today with his mommy, daddy, and grandma.  He is such a beautiful newborn, with the most kissable soft pouty lips and long eyelashes.  When he grows a bit older, he’s going to break quite a few hearts! 😉  The tiny mister was a perfect “baby-model”, letting me put him in some fun “props”, including a knitted “peanut”!  While all cozy, snuggled inside of the peanut, Preston must have known that he looked so so cute… because he smiled for the camera!  What a happy little peanut he is to be doted on by such a sweet family! ♥

Thank you, Lizzie and Christian, for bringing your brand-new boy today!  I think he is adorable!  I hope that you enjoy Preston’s photographic debut!

For Kailub

July 10th, 2010

Yesterday I met a happy, smiley guy named Kailub, who is just nine months old.  He was the sweetest little model for me, and was perfectly happy to pose in an adorable monkey hat and sit in a multitude of baskets and chairs!  Not only do Kailub’s parents love their little boy to pieces, apparently so does he — every time he sees his own picture, a huge grin spreads across his face.  This trick is especially useful for whenever Kailub starts crying; his mommy and daddy show him a book with his picture in it and, in the blink of an eye, he goes from crying to smiling!  I witnessed this wonderful feat, and it was hysterical! 🙂

Thank you, Nadia and Mike, for bringing your gorgeous little guy to my home-studio for his portraits!  I think Kailub is really going to like this! 😉  …Here is a “sneak peek” just for him!

Mia’s New Baby Sister

July 6th, 2010

This holiday weekend I met the most amazingly adorable family — Mommy Beth, Daddy Paul, and Baby Mia, who is going to be a “big” sister soon! 🙂  How fun it was to not only take some beautiful photos of mommy, but also of the angelic Miss Mia who arrived smiling away for her mommy’s belly session.  Mia is just such a happy and sweet little girl that she is going to be so good as a big sister.  Beth told me that Mia likes to “feed” the baby Cheerios, through her mommy’s belly button!  Ha! 😉

Mia looked impossibly cute sitting with her gorgeous mommy amongst the wildflowers, and hugging her mommy’s belly.  Can you tell I fell in love with her?! ♥

Thank you, Beth, Paul, and sweet Mia, for a really delightful session yesterday!  I can’t wait to see little Mia again and to meet her baby sister when she arrives!  I hope that you enjoy your “sneak peek”!

Lovely Laura

July 3rd, 2010

Yesterday evening I had the pleasure of meeting a really fun and lovely woman, Laura, and her husband, Curtis.  This couple was just so easy-going and funny, too!  Laura’s personality reminded me of my own mother; she is a rare combination of being up-for-anything involving fun but also being really grounded at the same time.  I’m very certain that Laura will be a wonderful mother!

Thank you, Laura and Curtis!  I had a blast, laughing with you at the beach, and I can’t wait to meet your little “bean” in just a month or so! ♥  Enjoy your “sneak peek”! 🙂

A Pretty Lady and her Parasol

The incredibly wonderful and sweet Nancy told me that she and her husband, Nolan, are “beach people”, so they met me there today for a really terrific maternity photo session!  Nancy even brought along some creative props, too; my favorite was a parasol they had used in their wedding!  Nancy looked absolutely striking, and the parasol was a really nice touch.

Nancy and Nolan are expecting a little boy in about a month… it’s so fun to imagine that their little boy might follow in his daddy’s footsteps and become a little surfer dude one day ♥

Thank you, Nancy and Nolan, for a great evening tonight!  I’ll be seeing you soon when you are officially a family of three! 🙂  Here is a “peek” at your portraits!

Cake Smash!

June 28th, 2010

Baby Naael came to me for his portraits when he was just three months old, and now he’s all grown up!  (Well, for a baby, anyway!) 😉  He is one year old, and a giggler, silly-face-maker and fast little crawler!  What a wonderful little boy he is growing into!

Naael got to “smash” his very own birthday cake today, and it was a blast (not only for him, but for me)!  At first, the little guy warmed up by nibbling on a basket.  Then once the cake was placed before him, he just poked at it.  But as soon as he realized how much fun it was to grab and squish handfuls of frosting, that cake was a goner! 🙂

Thank you, Mavi, for bringing Naael for his cake smash session!  I really love when you two come over because I have such a great time with you!  I hope that you enjoy your “sneak peek”! ♥

An Adventure into Parenthood

June 26th, 2010

Rachel, and her husband, Alex, were great fun on our adventure yesterday, hiking along a San Diego lagoon!  How wonderful it was to have a beautiful woman as a model in such a gorgeous location!  Rachel is just so comfortable in her skin; and, as her husband pointed out, it truly seems that pregnancy suits her well.  During her session, Rachel had such a positive, infectious energy, she was a photographer’s absolute dream! ♥

Thank you, Rachel and Alex, for a really great evening!  I had a blast meeting you, and I can’t wait to meet your little “Z in the pod” when he arrives! 😉  Enjoy your “peek” at your portraits!

Baby Alex is officially nine months old.  He is just as cute as ever and up to new tricks!  The little guy (who’s a bit bigger since his last session at six months) is a crawler, stander, snack-eater, and tooth-owner!  How fun it was to see him again! ♥

In three months, Alex will be a one year old, and he’ll be doing his cake smash session!  I can’t wait for all of the messy fun and to see what he’ll do! 🙂  Here is a little peek at Alex’s session today!

The Tale of Lucinda Lou and her Daddy

June 22nd, 2010

What a fun afternoon I had today, meeting an adorable little bean, named Lucinda Lou — Lulu for short!  Just like you may imagine with a name like Lucinda Lou, this little peanut is full of personality at only 10 days old, making all kinds of funny faces as I was positioning her for her portraits.  It wasn’t until Daddy came into the studio, though, that little Lucinda Lou settled into a deep slumber and I could get her into some super-fun set-ups!  Her daddy truly has that magic touch.

As much as I like Lulu’s portraits of her by herself, I especially adore the ones of her and her daddy; it’s very obvious that they already share so much affection between them.  How glad I am to have captured the special love between a daddy and his itty-bitty daughter ♥

Thank you, Honor, Matt, and Grandma Cindy, for bringing your bundle of joy for her portraits!  She is the sweetest little person!  I hope that you enjoy Lucinda Lou’s photographic debut! 🙂

All of her Sweet-Baby-Newbornness

June 21st, 2010

Little miss Elsa came to visit me today at only six days old!  She was so soft and new, I fell in love with all of her sweet-baby-newbornness ♥  Her mommy came for maternity portraits about two months ago, so how fun it was to meet and take the portraits of the little person that was inside of her mommy’s tummy!

Little did I realize when I first met him, but it just so turns out that Elsa’s daddy is a “master-swaddler-extraordinaire”!  It’s amazing what hidden talents people display so expertly once they are parents! 😉  Once daddy’s little girl was all wrapped up tightly, she fell into a deep sleep for her portraits, and I got to put Elsa into some really fun girly-girl “props”!  Squeeeaal! 🙂

Thank you, Dana and Mike (and sweet grandparents, too!), for bringing your little peanut to the studio for her very first portraits!  Congratulations!  Elsa is perfect!  I hope that you like your “sneak peek”!
