Today I had the pleasure of meeting a very sweet little guy named Gio! His full name, Giovanni, is quite big for him now, but he is sure to grow into it day by day
Little Gio’s mommy was so thoughtful and brought along some beautiful hats and wraps to use for his session. One little brown hat with a matching wrap was so so adorable; itty-bitty Gio reminded me of an itty-bitty acorn …The cutest acorn I’ve ever seen! ♥
Thank you, Kim, for bringing your precious baby boy for his session today! You are a wonderful mommy to him, and I wish you and your husband happiness and joy as you begin a new chapter of your lives, as Gio’s new mommy and daddy!

This past week I was having newborn “withdrawals” because I took a mini-vacation (well, a few days, really). But Baby Gavin changed all of that today, gave me my “baby-fix”, and was just as cute as can be! He tried to stay awake for a little while during his session; I think he wanted to see what was going on!
Not only was he cute when he was awake, once he was asleep, he looked so peaceful and sweet, he made me want to cuddle with him all day… and I truly couldn’t have been happier ♥
Thank you, Nancy and Nolan, for bringing your beautiful little boy for his portraits! You make a gorgeous family of three, and Baby Gavin is just perfect!

Now that it finally feels like summer here in San Diego, I couldn’t help but be inspired by the splash of bright colors that summer brings! Out of all of the foods that remind me of summer, one favorite of mine is rainbow-colored sorbet, melting into swirls in a big round bowl
I have to admit that this was probably my inspiration for this week’s newborn shoots!
Meet two tiny baby girls, Avery and Aila, two of the wonderful things that summer has brought ♥

At six months, Baby Isaiah has sparkling brown eyes with those long, thick lashes which make women swoon! And his big sister, Ella, has the most stunning green eyes, and a smile that is sure to melt quite a few hearts!
However, what struck me even more today during their photo session was Ella’s maturity, sweetness, and depth of character at only ten years old. I couldn’t help but think that she will make a wonderful mother someday ♥ Not only is Ella a gorgeous girl, but she is a wonderful young person, which matters so much more in the grand scheme of this world. When baby brother, Isaiah, nuzzled into his big sister’s neck, she suggested that I take their photo. She is so so good to him; Baby Isaiah is incredibly loved.
Thank you, Leyla, for bringing both Isaiah and Ella for their session today! I am so lucky to have met them. I hope that you all enjoy your “peek” at your portraits

Yesterday evening I met Denise, a sweet, loving, and thoughtful mama-to-be. She is excitedly awaiting the arrival of her little girl in about a month or so, and we spent the evening in a local garden amongst tall sunflowers (bigger than people!), prize-winning dahlias in a rainbow of colors, lanky green corn stalks, tomatoes on the vine, plump round pumpkins, and so many other wonderful growing things! How lovely it is to think that Denise’s baby daughter is going to have such a gentle, loving mother to tend to her ♥
Thank you, Denise, for allowing me to share in this special time in your lives! To Denise’s husband who is deployed in Japan: I hope that you enjoy this peek at your wife’s beautiful growing tummy! I can’t wait to meet your little girl very soon!

Yesterday I met a new little friend, Sophia, who was only a week old! She did all of those wonderful newborn things that endear me so much, like squeak and nuzzle into my neck when I held her. I get all warm and fuzzy just thinking about her! The Mother Goose Nursery rhyme says that little girls are “made of sugar and spice and everything nice”, and I couldn’t agree more!
My favorite part of yesterday happened when Sophia was all bundled up in her seat ready to leave. I was saying goodbye to her, and she cooed back to me! What a smart little baby!
…Luckily, I have her mommy as a witness to verify this story
Thank you so much, Laura, for bringing your perfect little girl for her portraits! She is a lovely little soul ♥

I spent the morning with a new itty-bitty baby whose mommy and daddy adorably referred to as “Z in the Pod” while he was in his mommy’s tummy … and now that their Z in the Pod is finally here, Baby Zane is such a cute little sugar pea!
Zane was so fun to cuddle with and had the sweetest pouty lips; I couldn’t stop photographing them!
Thank you, Rachel and Alex, for giving me the opportunity to share in your grand adventure into parenthood! I’m so glad that I got to meet your precious baby boy today! ♥

Baby Bryson is one year old! I had the absolute pleasure of meeting him and taking his newborn portraits when he was just a couple of weeks old, and then at six months. So it’s hard for me to believe that the tiny guy I once photographed in an itty-bitty bear hat can already toddle around happily and calls his mommy “dada”!
Bryson has a big smile complete with new teeth, and is so full of life and fun! However, when it came time for his cake smash during his session, he wasn’t as excited about it as I was… Bryson poked at his cake a little, and instead of celebrating his one year birthday with a “cake smash” portrait session, it was more of a “cake poke”!
I just love this little guy!
Thank you, once again, Auzon, for bringing your precious little boy to see me! I truly feel so lucky to have captured Bryson’s first year of life and to have seen just how wonderfully he has grown ♥

This weekend, I met Meghann, a most marvelous mama-to-be! How excited I was to discover that Meghann’s little guy is due in about a month, right around my birthday! Though I’m still not entirely sure if I believe in the zodiac signs and all that they entail, I do know that September babies make for great kids!
Needless to say, I can’t wait to meet the little man when he arrives ♥
Thank you, Meghann, for being so easy-going, fun, and up-for-it-all! I’m so glad that I got the chance to meet you!
I hope that your husband enjoys this surprise!

Baby Gemma and her mommy and daddy came for a custom baby photo session with me today. At just seven months, Gemma is the sweetest little “bean”, with sparkling blue eyes and a tuft of soft baby blonde hair. We had a fun afternoon blowing loud raspberries at one another; I can’t speak for her, but I wouldn’t like to spend my afternoons any other way!
Thank you so very much, Luke and Isabel, for bringing your precious Gemma for her session today! She is the most adorable little person! I hope that you enjoy your peek at her portraits!
