Brand New

♥ a Brand New Year & a Sweet Special Offer ♥

Newborn babies have always been very special to me and I’ve taken care of babies all of my life. As a little girl, I was a “baby nerd,” reading everything I could get my hands on about babies, going over to neighbors’ houses to help them with their infants, babysitting non-stop, and then, as a young adult, working in a special-needs day-care, while I attended college. In recent years, I volunteered at Rady Children’s Hospital in the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit). Though I don’t have the time to volunteer now, I miss cuddling those tiniest and most innocent people of all.

There are so many unique things to photograph on a newborn baby. During the first two weeks of life, little newborns have peeling skin, wrinkles (!), are super sleepy, and fold into a little balled up shape ~ like in the womb. The portraits I take aim to capture that unique time because babies grow up so quickly and change so rapidly during the first few months.

Baby Alex (above) was just five pounds at the time of his Newborn Portrait Session.  I absolutely love this portrait of him so much because it looks as though he is giving himself an itty-bitty hug!  It’s the wee ones like him that fill me with so much joy; I feel so blessed to be able to capture this special time for their parents :)  … I want to give you the opportunity to share in this joy and welcome 2010 with a sweet special offer!  If you have been thinking of booking a studio session, this would be the perfect chance!  My books are open and starting to fill quickly, so here it goes:
